Kunzite is a mineral of the spodumene group, and it is a pink to lilac-colored gemstone. It was first discovered in 1902 in California and named after George F. Kunz, a famous American gemologist who helped popularize colored gemstones in the early 1900s.
Kunzite reacts to UV light for a vibrant pink and peach glow and can even continue to glow after the UV light source has been removed.
