Strawberry Opal #4

Strawberry Opals are found in Peru. The coloration of Strawberry Opal is primarily attributed to the presence of iron oxide inclusions within the silica matrix. Specifically, hematite and goethite are the iron oxides responsible for the pink to red hues. The intensity of the color depends on the concentration and distribution of these iron oxides. The speckled appearance is also a result of these mineral inclusions, creating a unique texture within the opal.
